Catena Aurea

Commissioned by Pope Urban IV, the Catena Aurea is a continuous commentary on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. St. Thomas Aquinas gathered the voices of the Greek and Latin Fathers and linked them, verse by verse, into a single golden chain of interpretation.

• Compiled by St. Thomas Aquinas (1225–1274)
• Commentary on all four Gospels
• Drawn from more than eighty Church Fathers
