Coronation of the Virgin

Created in the 1420s, Fra Angelico’s Coronation of the Virgin presents Mary kneeling before Christ as heaven’s court attends the crowning moment. The panel’s delicate color, gold ground, and quiet ordering of figures show Fra Angelico’s gift for making doctrine visible as contemplation. Giclee printed to order on enhanced matte art paper.
