Parmigianino

1503 – 1540

Parmigianino was an Italian Mannerist painter and draftsman from Parma, admired for elegant figure drawing, elongated forms, and refined devotional compositions. Active in Parma, Rome, and Bologna, he brought a restless grace to sacred subjects and became one of the sixteenth century's most distinctive interpreters of Renaissance design.
